International Medical School Holds a Guzheng Performance Appreciation Meeting

On November 29, 2018, Tianjin Medical University International Medical College successfully held a unique Chinese Guzheng Appreciation Conference. More than 80 international students and some teachers and students of our school participated in this appreciation meeting. Li Mengfei is the chief zither actor of the Beiyang Folk Orchestra of Tianjin University. He has won the Gold Medal of the Musical Admiral Guzheng Solo and the Golden Prize of the National Solo Competition in Beijing.

During the two-hour lecture on the Guzheng culture, Li Mengfei explained in detail the origin and history of the Guzheng, as well as various performance techniques and guzheng expressions, and played four classic repertoires, namely "The Fishing Boat Sings Late" and "The Battle Typhoon". , "Snow Mountain Chunxiao", "Fantasia". In the end, Professor Li’s live professor has never touched the guzheng’s international students to play the “Little Stars” melody. After the appreciating meeting, the international students took photos with Mr. Li and observed the guzheng at a close distance. They did not want to leave for a long time.

This guzheng activity aims to cultivate Chinese students' cultural literacy, so that foreign students can feel the rhythm of Chinese classical music in the auditory sense, appreciate the excitement of Chinese culture from multiple dimensions, and deepen their enthusiasm for learning Chinese traditional culture. The International Medical College will create more opportunities for international students to learn and experience the essence of good culture, and bring these precious cultural treasures back to their own country, so that more and more people understand China.
